Clean Shepherd's Pie



2 sweet potatoes, boiled and mashed

2 tbs of plain greek yogurt (omit for Food Fit)

2 lbs of ground turkey/lean beef

2 large carrots, chopped

1 bag of peas

1 can of corn (Non-GMO for Food Fit)

1 Tbs olive oil

1/2 yellow onion, finely chopped

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1/2 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp chili powder

1 tsp garlic powder, divided

1/2 tsp of onion powder

1/2 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp himalayan salt, divided


Peel and boil sweet potatoes. Mash them with a hand mixer. Add 1/4 tsp himalayan salt, 1/2 tsp garlic powder and greek yogurt.

While potatoes are boiling, sauté onion and garlic in the oil. Once the onions are clear, add the ground meat and brown. Add the remaining spices and the peas, carrots, and corn. Mix. In a 9 x13, pour in the meat and veggie mixture then top with the mashed sweet potatoes. Bake at 375 for 35 minutes.
