25 Things about Kayla

1. I am the youngest (yes the youngest can you believe it? haha) of 4. I have 2 older sisters and 1 older brother. My siblings are my very best friends and a huge bonus is that they have all married awesome people who I now get to call family, too. I was blessed to marry into an amazing family as well... I am surrounded with lots of sibling love, to say the least!

2.I am married to my high school summer church camp sweetheart ;) We met at Hume Lake Christian Camp in the summer of 2009 (I believe?) He was attending with a church in Orange County where he is from, and I was attending with Big Valley Grace Church of Modesto. We became very close friends over the course of a few years and eventually began long distance dating. He moved up to Modesto to attend the Modesto Fire Academy and stayed in Modesto since then. We got married May 31st, 2014.

3. I have a roughly 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd named Meesha. I never really liked dogs, or any animals for that matter, until I got her... Kyle always wanted a dog, a German Shepherd to be specific, but I was hesitant to the idea. To make a long story short, my views on dogs and love for dogs has now drastically changed. Meesha is my best gal, she protects me and loves me unconditionally and although the shedding makes me want to scream, she is worth every lint roll and vacuum frenzy.

4. I would eat breakfast food for every meal if you allowed me. No seriously, give this girl some waffles or french toast or pancakes really (I don’t discriminate) and smother peanut butter all over them, and I am in heaven.

5. I cannot be trusted with a throw away camera. When I was about 8-9 years old, my family was vacationing in Florida and I had my fancy throw away camera. When I took all of my pictures, I threw it away because that’s what I thought you did with a throw away camera....just toss it, right? Clearly my thought process was that the pictures would magically appear one day...if I had any thought process at all. My family still gets a kick out of this. Put this in the dictionary next to blonde moment.

6. I have been told many times that as a toddler I resemble Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen off Full House.

7. My very best friend (more like a sister) lives in New Orleans, La! We met in high school as freshman after her family had to relocate after hurricane Katrina and she started attending my high school. We have been inseparable since. Although she lives across the country now, we're still just as close. I miss her everyday.

8. I have never been trick or treating. Ever. Not because my parents deprived me, we were just always busy with school carnival or other events. Oh, and I was an angel for like 4 years in a row.

9. 4th of July is my favorite holiday. I love it all...celebrating what matters, summer time, bbqing, family, the pool... Two years ago, the night before 4th of July, I got the worst stomach flu of my life and was more depressed about missing the holiday activities than I was about barfing my brains out. I still managed to walk out of my house and lay with a blanket on a chair just to feel apart of it.

10. I played Softball for most of my childhood and into high school. Both travel ball and school ball. Most weekends were spent on the fields at tournaments. When I was a freshman I developed another love for Volleyball. So I added that to my already crazy sports schedule!

11. I have no kids of my own, yet. But I am CRAZY about being an auntie. I have so much love for all of these kiddos it’s insane... Although I don’t live close to them all and that can be so hard sometimes, I’m blessed with all of the littles in my life that call me auntie. I have 5 nephews and 5 nieces and another niece on the way! I want to attach pics there will be way too many.... just go onto my social media and that's basically all I post! Lol

12.I was hesitant waiting until number 12 for this, but these aren’t in order anyways! love peanut butter. More like, I am obsessed. Addicted. It’s weird. Most people who know me, know this. I am such a PB snob that I usually stray away from most PB things because I feel like I get let down. For instance, a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor with PB in it... I never feel like there is enough PB. I usually have to not even keep PB in my house because my total lack of self control with it. I don’t even have a specific kind that I like. I like all of it. All brands. Creamy or chunky. Sugar added or plain. Salted or unsalted. ANY & ALLLLLL.

13. I have never been out of the country (sad, I know) except for our Honeymoon that we spent in the Caribbean, but I don’t

14. I am passionate about fitness. I love what I am blessed to do. To train, motivate and push people past what they thought they could ever do. I get a high from it and the community of people at Get Fit is unmatched.

15. My favorite TV shows as of now are: New Girl, Grey’s Anatomy and The Tonight Show.

16. Here’s a food shocker for you... I am not a big donut fan. I don’t even remember the last time I ate one. Nor do I like bacon... I like the smell of bacon, but the texture makes me gag. My husband doesn’t mind this because that means more for him! Donuts I don’t hate, I just don’t get the hype around them. Trust me, I am all about sugary treats but donuts never have appealed to me. Now, put a cinnamon roll in my face and that is a different story.

17. I was voted 'best hair' in high school for the yearbook two of the years.... And both times I had terrible hair. The wand days...haha

18. I don’t like cold weather. It makes me very grumpy. I don’t mind rain, but not cold.

19. I was in the Modesto Bee as student of the week. Lol.

20. I LOVE candles. All of them... I would spend way too much money on them if I allowed myself.

21. I caught a crock pot on fire once. Well, not the actual crock pot, but the cord. I had the crock pot plugged in and the cord was over our stove... turned on the stove to make something and accidentally turned on the wrong one. The cord caught on fire. I screamed bloody murder. Thankfully my firefighter husband was there to roll his eyes, laugh at me, and just *puff* the tiny fire out....

22. My sisters and I can go on for hours making references to Bridesmaids... we find it funny.

23. In middle school, I was chosen to perform in the Capital One Bowl Game half time show in Florida. My whole family came and we made a vacation out of it. The outfits were awful and no, I will not attach a picture of it but here is a big one. I'm one of the thousand out there.

24. My fondest childhood memories are spent at a cabin we had in Lake Tahoe. Every year over New Years we could go and spend a week there. Skiing and snowboarding at Heavenly resort and just enjoying each other’s company. I miss that so much. *hint hint* mom and dad....

25. I strive to choose JOY every day! God is good. ALL THE TIME.
